Curatorial Affairs

Abigail Bruno | Director of Curatorial Affairs

Untitled design-8.png

Abigail Bruno, Director of Curatorial Affairs, brings a background in Studio Arts and Technology, holding a BA from Purdue University. She has curated exhibitions including A Moment in Which We Want to Linger, Retro Fusion: Nostalgia Reimagined, and In Liminal Light: The Space Between, which explore themes of memory, surrealism, and transformation. Her exhibitions often bridge the conceptual and emotional, inviting audiences into immersive spaces of introspection, visual storytelling, and layered interpretation. As an abstract artist, Abi creates dream-like compositions using oil, acrylic, and mixed media. Inspired by organic forms and natural environments, her work emphasizes color and form as the central elements of her artistic language, rather than as tools for literal representation. Her paintings have been exhibited in several Purdue University galleries, including the Robert L. Ringel Gallery and the Patti & Rusty Rueff Galleries, and continue to evolve with her curatorial research.

Abi’s curatorial and artistic approach is deeply informed by her study of contemporary art history. She is especially interested in the dialogue between historical and modern influences, and how these intersections shape current artistic practices. Through her curatorial work, Abi aims to foster deeper engagement with contemporary art, encouraging thoughtful reflection on the human condition and the world we inhabit. She is committed to building inclusive, imaginative spaces that support emerging voices and provoke meaningful discussion around art’s role in society, highlighting its power to challenge norms, cultivate empathy, and inspire lasting cultural change.

Isabelle Grace Brett | Deputy Curator, International Art

Isabelle Brett is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Psychology at Columbia University in the City of New York. Originally from Connecticut, she is now based in New York, where she works as a curator for Culturally Arts Collective, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing accessibility and representation in the art industry. She has contributed as an associate curator to exhibitions such as Celebration, an enigmatic solo show of Trinidadian artist Indra Persad Milowe, and In Liminal Light: The Space Between, a group exhibition exploring the vulnerabilities of the human condition through mediated experiences and heartfelt expressions. Her focus when curating exhibitions prioritizes well-defined and cohesive narratives that will deeply resonate with intended audiences. She greatly values the relationship between artist, curator, and audience, and understands the value of open, honest, and genuine communication between all parties.

Isabelle’s education in art history spans from ancient art and architecture to contemporary and emerging artists and movements. She feels most inspired by work that challenges conventions and embraces vulnerability, inviting viewers to see the world through new and empathetic lenses. Her curatorial practice is grounded in storytelling, inclusivity, and an interdisciplinary lens shaped by her background in psychology. She is particularly interested in how movements like Impressionism and Post-Impressionism redefined perception and personal expression—offering insight into the emotional and cognitive impact of visual art.

Princeton University educated, Christopher brings a background in Architecture and Urban Studies amongst other disciplines. He is passionate about bridging architecture, exhibition design, and curation as a multi-faceted praxis to highlight and uplift art as a model of communal connection and inclusion. He has intensive experience in museum affairs as a three-time student board member of the Princeton University Art Museum where he previously served as the Chair of Student Engagement. In his own design practice, Christopher seeks to utilize conceptual and theoretical frameworks as precipitators in art creation. Thus, his work, often abstract and fragmented, is a physical manifestation of a singular thought or idea. Bringing forth his studies in art history and spatial design, he aspires to curate projects and design exhibition experiences that celebrate, highlight, and uplift artistic practices that highlight the innate power of human emotion. He believes that supporting such art is the first step in cultivating collective experience and joy.

Kate Anderson | Curator
