What do you aim to say by the themes in your art?
I aim to portray the diversity of the human spirit through expressive portraits.
Where does your inspiration come from?
I'm inspired by my own diverse upbringing in the Caribbean, having been inspired by constant exposure to bright colours, extraordinary expressiveness, creativity, and the beautiful diverse ethnicities and mixing of cultures.
Do you have experiences that impacted your art?
Migrating from my home country and most recently passing of my father has influenced me to create pieces that allowed me to stay connected to my family, and culture.
Do you feel your art challenges existing barriers?
Yes I believe my work tries to breach the barrier between traditional and digital art. Creating digital pieces that evoke the same intent and feeling as traditional pieces.
What are your long-term artistic goals?
My long term goals are to improve my artistic skills and continue to explore various medium to enhance my portraiture pieces. My hope is to share my art to broader audiences.
What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
Follow your passion and never compare your work to others. Practice a little each day and draw what makes you happy or allows you to express as much as you can. The skills will build and the joy will grow.
