About the Event
Round off the dance intensive with portraying emotion, musicality, and lyricism through a contemporary dance class! Learn technique in center, progressions and scores across the floor, and choreography in center. Contemporary focuses on torso and legwork coordination, improv, contractions and releases, and changes in speed and direction through influences of Duncan, Cunningham, and Graham. Learn to connect the use of the body, action, space, time, and energy through fluid movements and contemporary technique like rolls, jumps, crawls, and more. This is an open level class; anyone is welcome to join!
Meet your instructor: I'm Sandra Martinez and I'm from Colombia. I've danced since I was 3 years old, and now I practice Ballet, Contemporary, Urban, and Folklore styles. With these I've been awarded in All Dance and Golden Dance Cup and also competed in Youth America Grand Prix Latinamerica.
