Why Do People Monitor Exes Online?
One thing I’ve noticed is how common it is for people to quietly monitor ex-partners through social media activity. Even after relationships end, people still check followers, story views, and interactions out of curiosity. I think social media makes moving on harder because access to someone’s life never fully disappears anymore. In the past people naturally lost contact, but now everything stays visible constantly online. It creates situations where people keep reopening old emotions unnecessarily. At the same time, curiosity after a breakup is probably normal to some extent. The internet just makes it easier to act on those impulses repeatedly. Do social media platforms make breakups harder than they used to be?
