SANDY COHEN

Born in Israel and raised in New York City, Sandy Cohen is an internationally acclaimed  artist whose work is as thought-provoking as it is emotionally charged. Her style and ability to evoke raw emotion has made her a favorite among elite collectors. Sandy’s work is showcased in international galleries and held in the private collections of the Royal Families of Morocco and Qatar. Her works are collected by celebrities and renowned figures like the Stern family of NYU’s School of Business. Just a few short years after launching her career, Sandy Cohen’s works have skyrocketed in value — appreciating over 2,000% — while her brand has become a household name in the Hamptons and synonymous with high-end luxury and collectible art.

"My solo show “Boys Wanna Get With Me, Girls Wanna Get With Me” opens June 7 at Stella Flame Gallery in the Hamptons. The title is from a song my sister wrote. She was in the music industry for 20 years and passed away in 2022. We were two halves of one soul. This show is going to be political. The climate has been so polarized. I think it’s important to talk about things, even the uncomfortable stuff. The show opens during Pride Month, so there will be a lot of gay work. I’m also launching limited edition apparel from my brand FAME by Sandy Cohen Art, named after my sister. Last year the show was packed—people came from Qatar, LA, Paris. This year we have some celebrities coming too. It’s going to be fun. Some of the pieces are ambiguous, and I know some will trigger strong responses. I think it’s necessary. I want to ignite conversation. I want people to look, feel, and talk—even if they disagree."

Sandy Cohen is a self-taught prodigy. At just eight years old, she broke boundaries as the only child accepted into an adults-only art program at New York City’s prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art. Before starting highschool, she was granted admission to the Fashion Institute of Technology. At 19, Cohen was discovered by legendary pop artist Peter Max, who instantly recognized her unique voice and raw artistic power. Her career was on a meteoric rise when life took an unexpected turn. That same year, Cohen became severely disabled with a devastating neurological condition due to adverse reactions to antibiotics — an event that would keep her bed ridden and dependent on a wheelchair, as well as put her life and artistic journey on hold for nearly two decades. Defying all odds she re-emerged back onto the art scene in 2017, after years of fighting for her health and her dream. She hopes to inspire others through her personal journey and her works of art to never give up!
