Steven Allison

Steven Allison is a young artist who recently graduated with a BFA from Arizona State University, United States, mid-pandemic. His work has evolved from experimenting with each medium such as ink, watercolor, acrylic and finally landing on oils. His work is rooted in the dissection of his own mental illness. Therapy is expensive and currently unaffordable to many in the US, so he studies philosophies, coping mechanisms, and steps to recover - using paint as a medium to express said ideas. Steven often uses scenes inspired by a dramatic version of his home, Phoenix, as a backdrop, since it has an interesting mix of city, desert, forest, etc. allowing for more personally charged imagery. He is currently based in Phoenix, where he works out of his home studio and shared with three roommates.
