We are pleased to announce the launch of In Liminal Light: The Space Between, now available for public viewing at www.culturallyarts.com/inliminallight.

This exhibition presents a compelling exploration of self-portraiture and figuration in an age increasingly shaped by constant self-documentation. Through a diverse array of mediums and perspectives, the featured artists interrogate the role of individuality in a digital world saturated with curated images and fleeting interactions.
Curated by Abigail Bruno and Isabelle Grace Brett under the artistic direction of Isabell Sliwinski, In Liminal Light centers on the quiet tensions between introspection and expression, between personal truth and public presentation. The works showcased invite audiences to reflect on the mechanisms we use to preserve our sense of self amidst technological modernity and societal change.

The works in this exhibition span painting, sculpture, metalsmithing, and mixed media, and reflect a shared pursuit: to understand the essence of human experience beyond surface appearances. Through a curatorial framework that emphasizes emotional and psychological depth, In Liminal Light presents portraiture not as documentation, but as inquiry.
Isabelle Brett, Associate Curator, describes the exhibition as “an interpretation of life’s greater ambiguous unknown—the grey area we cannot pinpoint, but spend much time striving to grasp.” It is within this ambiguity that the exhibition finds its voice, and in that voice, a call to deeper reflection.

With contributions from artists based in Siberia, Germany, India, and the United States, the exhibition offers a global dialogue on identity, memory, and emotional vulnerability. From Christopher Liu’s intricate metalwork to Xenia Gray’s layered compositions in oil and charcoal, each piece is an invitation to pause and consider the in-between spaces that define the human condition.
