About the Event
Class Description:
Free Portrait Class on Zoom! Mike Russel will be teaching a free portrait class, sponsored by CulturallyArts.com! He’ll teach you how to draw realistic faces, using shading, shapes, and proportions. Just bring a few pieces of blank paper, some medium weight pencils, a sharpener, eraser, and a photocopied picture of someone you’d like to sketch. We’ll use that photo to measure our proportions and trace the shapes of our different values!
What should I bring? If possible, bring a normal wood pencil (this is preferred over a mechanical pencil), a sharpener, an eraser, and 3-4 pieces of blank paper. If you don’t have a pencil, bring markers or even a crayon! Have a flat surface to draw upon. Finally, bring a simple object to draw – a ball or fruit, such as an apple, orange, or grapes.
