Born in San Jose, California, Joshua Masters (b. 1998) was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Joshua is a BFA candidate with a concentration in studio art. Joshua began their practice as a freelance artist in 2015. They curated the First Friday Art Gallery at Legends, Raleigh, NC, from 2018-2019. In 2019, Joshua continued their career through mural work before transitioning to work as an intern and glassblowing assistant at the Jackson County Green Energy Park. Spanning a variety of mediums, their works have subsequently been shown in the 14th Biennial International Miniature Print Exhibition 2023 at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, CT, and Pride Pots Community Conversations at the Clay Studio, Philadelphia, PA. Joshua’s artistic practice is a channel for activism on behalf of the disabled and queer communities and they are currently exploring intersectional discourse through interdisciplinary works in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
