John is an artist and art instructor living in Los Angeles. In high school as an art major he collaborated with peers to paint a surrealistic mural for his high school. He later received a BFA in painting from Pratt Institute in New York. His artwork has been in some exhibitions to raise awareness on global issues. John is a published award winning artist. He enjoys inspiring others.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Painting is a mediative process for John. His genres include conceptual, symbolic, and abstract paintings. He is inspired by mythology, folklore, nature, and paintings of the Lotus Sutra. His influences include late artists Matta, Chu Teh Chen, and Hilma af Klint while his contemporary influence is artist Ross Bleckner. John hopes his artwork visually transports the view and transcends time and space.
